Warbirds over Wanaka 2014

RAAF BAe Hawks

Above The RAAF BAe Hawks were a welcome addition to the 2015 show. A very attractive aircraft despite the bumps and lumps on the later versions.

When will the RNZAF be re-equipped with these? (Rhetorical)

Jet Racing

The Jet racing was very exciting, it's unusual to see so many aircraft in the same part of the sky, at these speeds, and not in a formal formation. The older Vampires were very competitive and ended up being the victors. A visual and aural feast!

.Aero Delfin L29

Aero Delfin L29 ZK-JET, formerly of the Bulgarian Air Force. I believe this aircraft is operated out of Queenstown on Part 115 Operations. That means Warbird Passenger rides!

NZTAF P-51D Mustang
If only pictures had sound...

Spitfire IX

Again, if only pictures had sound!

WWi German

In keeping with the World War One commemoration, there was an excellent display of German and British types this year.

Sopwith Triplane going to bed

The Sopwith Triplane replica gets wheeled away at the end of the day's flying.

P-51D against black smoke

Drama in the sky, the NZTAF marked P-51D against a pyrotechnic backdrop.
